French label Marine Serre sent athletes and artists on a runway on the athletics track on Saturday night, showing off an athletic-inspired wardrobe infused with art references at a public, all-ages show.
Like Olympic Opening Ceremonies, delegations were in solidarity. First came the teams of men and women models, wearing recycled-fibre bathing suits that blended into their bodies, framing their curved forms.
Next came a selection of recycled denim silhouettes featuring sharp patches. Adding colour was a pink-hued series that included a pair of Chanel-like doublets made from tea towel materials.
In addition to regular fashion-industry guests–clients, journalists, and influencers 900 tickets were distributed online, and reservations were granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
